![]() The issue though is that some enemies can still focus on the player even if there are skeletons onscreen. Laying Down One's Life - The main point of playing as the Necromancer is that the skeletons are perfect to be used as both attackers and as shields.Obviously, since skeletons are their primary method of attack, this will happen quite often so players will get a lot of use out of this. 5% boost every time that they summon a skeleton. Unseen Care - This skill is also just as important to have as it will grant the player's energy armor a.If this is acquired early enough the player can stop focusing on Skeleton Level increasing gear and instead equip things that will boost other important stats. Basically, every time that the player completes a loop with this equipped their skeletons will receive a level boost. Field Practice - This trait is integral to any Necromancer build, and if the player is unable to obtain it they might as well kiss their run goodbye. While traits are typically a secondary concern for the Warrior and Rogue, having the right traits can make or break a Necromancer. While working on boosting stats there are also traits that the player will want to get as soon as possible to increase their abilities. ![]() A great rule of thumb is to try and keep the Skeleton Level number as close to the loop number as possible. Skeleton Level on the other hand will increase the damage and defensive capabilities of the player's skeletons. The more skeletons on the screen, then the more chances for enemies to take damage and fewer opportunities for the player to be injured. By increasing the Max Skeleton skill the player can summon more allies to help them fight at the same time. Players will want to get their hands on Skeleton Guards (shield carrying skeletons) when they can as these allies will protect the player whenever they are attacked.Īfter this, the player will want to also focus some of their stats on both Max Skeleton and Skeleton Level. The higher that this skill is then the more likely better skeletons will spawn. The most important of these is probably Skeleton Quality. Games like Paradox Grand Strategy or Total War that have a ton of DLC are fine as long as its a finite amount I can pick up all at once on a Steam Sale. This is why when choosing stats in Loop Hero the player should try and focus on those that directly influence their skeletons. If possible, keep Live Service games to a minimum I find battlepasses, microtransactions, and FOMO to be more frustrating than fun. What are other characters that offer this playstyle? I'm especially looking for options outside the standard MOBA / MMO / ARPG trinity, as its fun to shove a bunch of minions into a genre that wasn't really designed for it something about that is highly exciting and immersive. The aforementioned Necromancer in Darksiders 2 (yes, necros feature alot, though I personally prefer engineers), Mini-Sentry Engi in Team Fortress 2, even drowning my enemy in KDA-Schutzen spam (cheap East German militia) in Warno. MMO's (Necromancer and Engineer from Guild Wars, Scholar and Summoner from FFXIV)ĪRPG's (Forge Guard and Shaman from Last Epoch, Necromancer and Witch Doctor from Diablo 3).īut I was really excited when I got to play this build in other games that weren't this style. MOBA's (Venomancer and Nature's Prophet from Dota, Zagara and Xul from HotS) And I absolutely loved it.Īfter that, I started seeking out character classes that offered a similar experience. By contrast, the idea of using disposable minions to overwhelm my enemies was something I'd never really seen before in an ARPG. Not because I thought it was meta (general agreement is that Harbinger is better), but because the other is just a stock beat-em-up game. So, in Darksiders 2, I played through the game as a Necromancer.
